Sylvan Butera Rich

Sylvan Butera Rich lives and works in Santa Barbara, CA.  Her acrylic-based paintings illuminate beauty, movement, and depth in the natural world, specifically focusing on the California Central Coast.  Art has been a lifelong passion for Sylvan. This passion found renewed focus in 2020, inspired by the need to connect with nature and the beauty of our natural world amidst a changing social backdrop. Unique landscapes, color, and tranquility are defining themes in her work, which can be found in homes throughout the local Santa Barbara area. Additionally, Sylvan is a wife and mother of three children, taught social justice education in East Los Angeles and Antioch University for 15 years, works for the AAPLE Academy Foundation at San Marcos High School, and writes grants for the Unity Shoppe.
